| In the early 1990s, a small entrepreneurial company named Chartwell Information Publishers began providing solid waste management professionals with a printed directory about solid waste facilities in the United States. Hundreds of pages long, the Chartwell Solid Waste Atlas and Directory was definitely not briefcase friendly and obviously could not be used by concurrently by company staff at different locations. Since acquiring this service in 2005, The Envirobiz Group has transformed the Chartwell Solid Waste Atlas & Directory into an online service that customers can access anywhere there is an internet connection.
The online Chartwell Municipal Solid Waste Directory’s focuses on facilities that manage municipal solid waste in the United States. The basis for inclusion is that the facility purpose is assisting with the management of municipal solid waste and/or a specific constituent in municipal solid waste. The directory includes both government and privately owned municipal solid waste facilities. The diverse scope of facilities includes are incinerators, landfills, recycling plants, transfer stations, waste to energy (WTE) facilities, waste processing and other similar facilities. Many of these facilities also accept other types of waste such construction and demolition wastes, contaminated soil, industrial wastes, scrap tires, e-waste, etc.
The number of facilities in the Chartwell Municipal Solid Waste Directory will change from time to time as new facilities are added to the directory and closed facilities are removed. Correspondingly, the information on individual facilities in the Chartwell Solid Waste Directory will also periodically change to reflect information obtained from our ongoing survey efforts. Consequently, unlike the past printed Chartwell Solid Waste Atlas & Directory that only reflect facilities at the time of printing, the Chartwell Solid Waste Directory is a dynamic references source.
The Chartwell Municipal Solid Waste Directory is simple to use; with the possible exception of the most novice internet users, minimal time is needed to get staff using the search function of this business tool. The search results are organized so that it is easy to scroll through the search results. The information on each facility is provided in an easy to understand standard layout. The demonstration below illustrates how a user can easily and quickly access specific information on a facility. |
